| New Member Award This award is selected first by selecting the top 4-8 abstracts, for review at the annual meeting by the Education and Awards Committee. The top 3 presentors will be named as finalists for the New Member Award. The Chair of the Education and Awards Committee will request from the authors a full manuscript within 1 month of the meeting, prepared for submission to Surgical Infections for publication as a condition of the award. The papers will be reviewed by the membership of the Education and Awards Committee and the Executive Committee for grading. The Executive Committee is the President, Past-president, President-Elect, Secretary, Treasurer and Recorder. In cases of conflict, the individual will recuse him/herself from review of his/her paper only but may participate in the grading of the other papers/presentations. The New Member Award winner will be announced at the next annual meeting, as well as the finalists for the year in which the meeting. This ensures that the new member attends 2 consecutive meetings and is publically recognized as both a finalist and award winner the following year. Certificate given at the second meeting where the award is announced. Award: $1,000 |
